How I Work
I provide clear and practical advice, coaching, and guidance to families throughout the independent school application process on their own terms and at their convenience. Unlike a traditional educational consulting firm that requires a long-term commitment, I am available on an hourly (or half-hourly) basis.
It is important to note that I neither communicate directly with school admission offices on a family’s behalf nor guarantee placement at an independent school. Instead, I work directly with families to navigate the process and to put their best foot forward when they apply.
My services are simple and straightforward: no packages and no contract.
-
The first 30-minute consultation is free.
-
Every additional hour I spend either working directly with your family or preparing materials for your family is $150 (or $75/30-minutes).
-
I create and maintain a shared tracker that logs our time and keeps us on task.
-
I am available in-person (Greater Boston), by phone, or in a virtual space.
What Families Are Saying
Working with Allegra was an incredibly valuable experience for our family. She is someone I genuinely trust—thoughtful, honest, and generous with her time and insight. I leaned on Allegra not just once, but multiple times: first for kindergarten for my daughter, and later when navigating the right school fit for my son as he approached seventh grade. At each stage, she provided clear, tailored guidance, helping me think through the best environment for each of my children—who have very different personalities and learning styles. She also helped us understand the process and pros and cons of reclassing, which was truly invaluable. Having that level of clarity and perspective made what could have been a complex decision feel manageable and well-informed. What sets Allegra apart is her deep understanding of schools and what they truly offer. She has a unique ability to match a child to the right setting—not just academically, but socially and emotionally as well. Her background in admissions, combined with her perspective as a parent, makes her both highly knowledgeable and incredibly relatable. In an area with so many excellent options, having someone like Allegra to help navigate the process is invaluable. She brings clarity and calm to what can otherwise feel overwhelming and gave me real confidence that I was making the right decisions for my children. I am so grateful to have worked with her and would highly recommend her to any family going through the school search process.
